Artist Statement:

I enjoy having a positive impact on people’s lives with my pottery. Using something handmade in today’s world of mass production is refreshing and enjoyable. A handmade functional or decorative piece stands out. I want people to be drawn to something that I have made and have them feel the need pick it up. My work has been influenced by the Japanese architecture and culture that I observed while living there for three years. I really enjoy making pottery because of the endless possibilities for both form and surface, and the surprise of seeing the finished piece for the first time.
